in the garden....

Used the Macro setting on the camera.
All kinds of small treasures to be found in the garden.....

Don't know flower names but I sure like what they are!

The only exception, strawberries (yum!).

up there....

Up in the high country, Deke's Peak at Soapstone Basin on a cold and snowy April day. Been a few years since I've had the pleasure of being there, was wonderful to revisit....

butterfly

It was a partly cloudy, nearly windless day
 I was visiting friends
This butterfly was hanging from their front porch
Effortlessly, it was doing exactly what it was supposed to.....

How cool is that?

snow stuff

Wind-driven snow can produce some interesting effects.
Then I get to manipulate the images...

Black & white study.... there is a building off-frame to the right that helped whip the snow around and through the fence during the night, this was taken mid-day when the sun finally came out.

tweaks (Part 1)

Both of these started out as photographs of real objects in nature....

Then I got a little creative with the software.

liberty park pan

After the beating this lake took when the pipeline ruptured, things seem to have worked out.

I remember rubber ducky races on this thing 30 some years ago.....

cold sunrise

Several years ago, a cold snap on a snowless January morning.
Sunrise was too good to pass up so.....

I got the camera out. That's ice on the lake....

moving water

A waterfall in the woods, I have a whole bunch of this thing at different times and different seasons - a fun thing to watch evolve....

More on this subject later.

unintended fun

The object was the full moon (and I got plenty of shots) but I ended up having more fun with the reflection on a nearby lake, the tripod and a handful of small rocks.... Then I used the editing software for even more fun!

wandering in the woods (Part 1)

Always amazes me what turns out after taking hordes of shots - that little screen on the back of the camera ain't much for detail. After downloading to the computer however.... then the interesting part begins. These came from wandering in the woods in late winter/early spring a couple years ago.

Panoramic...

These things can be done freehand but using the tripod works much better, the stitching program can find matching points faster (these things can take up some time to make!). I don't yet know the upper limit of my software, I've used up to 11 images to make one panoramic in the past, these are only 6 each. The Wasatch Front from Sugarhouse Park, straight then tweaked plus one....

Gotta start somewhen....

Not a lot of commentary, mostly a place to post some of my pix.....

The Stump, after I got done playing around with the software.
